GlideScope™ – Emergency Landing Awareness Layer for ForeFlight (v1.0)
GlideScope™ is a custom ForeFlight map overlay covering the 48 contiguous United States, designed to improve situational awareness during an engine failure.
When options are limited and time is critical, GlideScope highlights broad land-cover categories (such as open farmland versus dense forest or urban areas) to help pilots make more informed decisions if an airport or suitable road is out of reach.
This tool is to support decision-making — not replace it.
Versioning & Updates
Your purchase includes lifetime access to all v1.x updates of the layer for the 48 contiguous United States (delivered in 6 regions).
- Minor updates (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.) are included.
Major version updates (v2.x, v3.x, etc.) are expected approximately annually and will be offered separately.
- Many areas change very little year to year, so your existing version may continue to serve you well.
What GlideScope Provides
- Clear visual identification of open vs. obstructed terrain
- Seamless integration as a ForeFlight custom map layer
- Lightweight, offline-capable files for in-flight use

What GlideScope Is Not
